For my co-captain Gritzalis Manos Drakopoulos Kostas, Pavlos Makris, Antonis Diamadopouls, Kouris Babis, Dimitris Eleftheriadis, Kostas Nisiotis, Katina & Mitsos Bexis, Dionisis Karipidis,

And for my daughter Julie and my son Elias to know where they come from and where they need to go.

First, let’s finish with the painting …

Last September (2003) we took with my son every day the ferry boat from N.Jersey into Manhattan, in downtown New York City. Approaching the port we became spectators of an imaginary landscape, the colors of the river to the mirrored glass facades of city buildings. The buildings in turn reflect these colors together and back to the river, creating a unique visual experience. Depending on the time traveling the colors had different intensity, containing, however, always such an explosive energy that our route was inevitably identified with daydreams. Did not take long to figure out that the core of this power is the millions of people who came from all parts of the world in this city, and in and out of buildings, trying every day to realize their dreams. Ambassadors of the world, working for a better future and shape their lives and their dreams of the modern face of New York.

My new job is dedicated to the human spirit, dreaming and striving for the impossible dream every day. It is the display of joy and sorrow, victory and defeat, the constant battle for a better world.

Abstract art is the picture of human emotions

Heroes and Traitors -1

Athens, April 21, 1967:

I was in my studio when I woke up from the noise of tanks. A crazy man – Papadopoulos – had decided to save Greece from the Communists, Democrats and anything in between.

I shared a studio at the time with a good friend of mine Paul Makris. Paul helped me finish some paintings to a local gallery in order to get the money I needed to leave for Europe.

Later when I returned to Greece in 1973, he helped all he could, to form a group of freedom fighters. From another good friend, Nick Toumpakaris, I learned about two students who were driving to Germany and went with them to Karlsruhe, Germany. Then I met with Katina Bexis – who was doing all the odd jobs to live, even sandwiches for Greek students. Six years later she helped me survive for more than three months, staying at home, when I was fleeing from the dictators in Greece and from my own people who had betrayed me.

I also met with Dimitris Kolovos who at that time was recruiting students to help and organize some kind of resistance through demonstrations in Germany! (6 years later, I met him again on my way to Greece.) He was one of my suppliers of ammunition. He was also a yes man of Andreas Papandreou. In 1974, following the orders of Andreas drove us, Gkritzalis Manos and me to Malme Sweden to kill us.

In Karlsruhe I was a guest in the home of a student, he was an architect and was easy to get along. He showed me the best places in town to meet people, girls, and how to use the student cafeteria for cheap food. In a few weeks I was like the locals. In the second week I met a German painter who had his own small gallery on the main street and had broken his right shoulder in a game of arm resting. His hand was in a plaster holding it up as the greeting in Nazi Germany. He saw the look on my face and tried to reassure me and said that he hated Hitler. He offered me a job – because he could no longer paint. I was in the money again: from hunger went to good food in good restaurants and paying for all the students who had helped me. Also, I rented an apartment, and was living with a very good and beautiful girl. I bought my first car an old 1956 VW.

One day an expensive Mercedes parked in front of the gallery and the painter went out to greet the man. Both came on the back of the gallery, where the “studio” was to meet me. Within the next hour there was an agreement and a week later I took the train north to Dortmund to work for the Mensing gallery. I left the old VW with my girlfriend to come find me later. Soon I was making crazy money and I called my friend Pavlos Makris to visit me. When Pavlos came we went to Paris. Why? Because every artist has to go to Paris and starve for at least one month.

In Paris I met Maria padazidou, who I started visiting almost every weekend for 3-4 days every weekend driving back and forth from Germany in my new Ferari Dino. Unfortunately, this relationship was the reason why the agreement with the Mensing Gallery spoiled and that is why I decided to move to Paris. In a few months I saw that French was the same as Greek mentality “If you can do something today better do it tomorrow. Things did not go as fast as I wanted and it was time to leave for New York.

I had good luck at the American Embassy I got a great visa and left for New York in a few days. During my last day in Paris, I stayed with an old friend. He had many friends the type I called “cafe revolutionaries” and the last night, I noticed one of the philosophical discussions about freedom. Their conclusion was that if Greece had few good men like Guevara we will all be free to continue with our lives, and the students and young people pursuing their dreams to make their career! During my flight to New York I was thinking how superficial these people were and how easy it was to exclude themselves from any responsibility other than their career. Everyone wanted someone else to pull the snake out of its hole.

Heroes and Traitors – 2

New York had just been hit with a big snowstorm and for some reason, I do not know why, I felt comforted and calm. I went to visit a couple of friends who put me up for a few days at their home in Brooklyn. I was surprised and happy that I walked the same streets walked by Bogart in the movie “The Dead End Kids”.

I met a girl who invited me to go with her to New Jersey. We ate lunch in a good restaurant in Tenafly across the bridge George Washington 20 minutes from Manhattan. The manager was a Greek as were the owners, cooks and everyone who worked at the restaurant. They called me the next day for dinner. Emigrated Greeks are very hospitable, at least the Greeks in the U.S.. They will go out of their way to help you succeed there.

The next day I met with the friends of the restaurant director George Koikas, and the owners of the restaurant invited me back again with the promise to help me sell some of my paintings. In a few weeks I was in the money again. An elderly woman had a beautiful 1957 Plymouth Belvedere and gave it to me for one of my paintings. Now, with money and a good car I decided to cross the country to Los Angeles.

The timing was perfect because my friends in Brooklyn Zoy and Angelos Koufopoulus had just moved to Santa Monica. They were very happy to see me and invited me to stay at their home. I began preparing a series of paintings for an exhibition in large canvases and soon I ran out a special white paint available only in New York because of some regulation of harmful emissions into air in California. Zoy said she could ask a childhood friend of hers to bring me these colors. Called her friend and talked for an hour. So her friend came to LA with two gallons of titanium white brand Red Devil, and took the first flight to LA. That’s how I met Andrea it was love on first site and we got married and had two children after a few years, Julie and Elias. A year later in 1972 I watching the news on TV I saw Andreas Papandreou giving a speech at Berkeley for his struggle for freedom in Greece and PAK. The words of the revolutionaries of Paris came to my mind. “If Greece had a few good men.” I was faced with who I am. I went to Berkeley and met with Andreas Papandreou and Costas Tsimas. The National Liberation Movement PAK announced that it is ready to begin the armed struggle for freedom in Greece. . . Both were happy to finally find who would get the snake out of its hole and would start the revolution, and I was glad that I had the political cover for what you did. Depending on which side you are sitting, the freedom fighters, when captured or killed can be considered bandids or patriots. I was not planning to get caught alive so if you were to die I want to go as a patriot.

I left for Canada, where I was trained in explosives, espionage, intelligence, communication codes, self-defense, shooting and driving at high speeds and how to identify targets of opportunity. While I was in Canada, my wife Andrea sold all our stuff, home, appliances, our car, and her jewelry. We were going to use the money to finance the revolution in Greece. Papandreou had said he was going to help with money and in the end to give me back the money, but then he rubbed his nose when he was not holding his glass of whiskey, I knew then that I was on my own.

On my way to Germany from New York I had orders to stop at a secret school where I was to get instructions how to be a “revolutionary.” It sounded stupid at first and became even worse when I arrived. Basic training was how to be able to survive on canned beans in the forest! The trainer was full of himself and lit his Gauloises with a solid gold DuPon lighter. One of the revolutionaries from Paris. The next morning I called Tsimas and the revolutionary center closed.

I met with Kolovos and gave him instructions for the to supplies and how to contact me. Then I went to Switzerland to get the comunication codes and my arms from John Tsekoura. At our meeting he avoided any eye contact and when he talked he had his hands in his pockets – so I put him on the list of people who I had to watch out for.. In Italy, on my way to Greece, I was to meet with Andrea Papandreou and John asked me to wear a wig and a mustache on the train. If one controller saw the photo in my passport and me with the mustache and wig he would have called the police immediately! It was like he did not want me to get to Italy.

I met Papandreou and his entourage the next evening in southern Italy. After a meager dinner and too much wine we went to sleep in a garbage dump outside a secluded area. Early the next morning Papandreou met separately with each of us (there were two more volunteers there) Each of us was to organize his own team. The first-Charalampos Kouris – would organize public information, the second – George Zigogiannis – it was not clear what she was going to do. Later when he betrayed us I figured what was his mission. I was to organize the armed resistance and bring wear and tear to Dictators and their friends.

The three of us we would not have any contact between us in Greece. The other two men had a great time with Papandreou in his office making arrangements for their future; Later when Papandreou with the help of $ 100,000,000 US Government money become the prime minister of Greece the two continued their friendship and made careers in the goverment. When I finally met with Papandreou he asked me what I wanted from him. “I said. just remember my name if am killed and to make sure the supply line worked. He looked at me and said” I’ll make sure and when we are in a free Greece I will take care of the money this is costing you!. ” I said. Well, “If we’re alive and you’re able, I accept.” Hugged me like it was going to be the last time he saw me, he knew his plans to his secret agenda. And it was the last time we met, but for reasons I did not expected at that time.

Michael Ziangas, his partner in booze, a clown, appeared with a bottle of whiskey, drinks early in the morning and the meeting ended. (Later, Papandreou presented him as one of us to justify his government position and fat paychek. We all left for different destinations. A month later my wife Andrea came to Greece and the race began.

Kolovos sent me the first batch of materials and I started what I had to do: physical damage to the dictators and their supporters. My instructions were to do nothing big (God forbid) – just a few small things with a lot of noise, so that we can attract others to copy us and spread the “damage” in a wider geographic area.

Heroes and Traitors – 3

Everything was going according to plan but very soon I was spending more time decoding stupid posts by John, the guy who gave me the wig. It was like a child playing with new toys. This was dangerous and I had to put an end to it. I told him I would call, just me, and that he or anyone else not to call again.

His last message was to blow up the car of the Minister of Education, but not to hurt the driver, because the driver was one of us! Think about it: blowing up the entire car. . . and not the driver. To do so the driver had to be notified, I leave the conclusions to you.

The other two volunteers who I had seen in Italy – Charalampos Kouris and George Zigogiannis did nothing and the armchair generals in Europe (Papandreou and John) decided they would have to come with me because I was the only one that did work and I needed another hand!!! Nobody had to know my real identity, phone number or my address but he sent Zigogianni to call me. I was very anxious and angry when Zigogiannis called me and asked to meet with me.

I met him a few blocks away from my house in a cafe in Attiki Square. When I asked him who gave him my number replied John Tsekouras. John sends me greetings and asked us to consolidated our efforts Kouris, Zigogiannis and me.

From the beginning I had suspicions about John and others in PAK for incompetence but this was different. This was not incompetence or stupidity. I had a strong feeling that Zigogiannis was going to betray us in time, when Tsekouras give him the OK. I had suspected such a betrayal, because I knew before anyone from PAK who had tried to do something against the dictators he wascaught at the designing stage before making the slightest thing.

Many had become heroes this way without doing something and later used it for their political career. The largest position occupied this way was the post of prime minister, by Andrea Papandreou. Now I had a different perspective. Maybe what happened was part of a more complex project. That was not just the mistakes of people who do their best and learn from their mistakes, but rather people playing a game for their own personal gain. (A note – 1/10/12 I was almost right, it was for their personal gain and taking orders and money from the secret services of our conquerors.) Which are the conquerors; You will see who – the ones will control the Greek oil deposits) I decided that the best thing I had to do under the circumstances was to take with me the 2 other people so I can watch them.

The next day I started looking for a new safe house that nobody would know. Later I that day I went to the meeting with Babis and Zigogianis. The meeting was held in a small apartment that Babis had rented at Sygrou Avenue. There was no furniture but a single bed in the middle of the small room and some chairs – that evening I met Manos Gritzalis, a childhood friend of Babis. The discussion was about of how Babis and Zigogianis will print and organize the distribution of leaflets in Athens chanting against dictators. . . . There is no doubt that this was going to lead the dictators to drink and die alcoholics. Babis seemed to me as an ambitious man who will do anything to succeed but he did not know what to do. Zigogiannis was the epitome of a “Paris revolutionary” and expressed his dream of seeing himself on a balcony – greeting the crowds that applauded him as the Queen of England. Both did not go through the training I did, so what are they doing here? I had no choice but to keep them close and I prepare for the worst. First, I proposed to show them how to prepare a target, and second, how to make a package of explosives at our next meeting a few days later.

The Avoid to put their hands on the package that I had done at Babis safe house as part of their education. But I forced them to place explosives to predetermined targets. They had to have done something to incriminate themselves so could not claim later that it was just me. Something to think about if he was going to betray us.

It was the standard procedure in every job I always called two hours before to give a warning, so that people can leave the building. My goals were not the people, but the buildings ownership of companies that supported with their business the dictators. If you managed to make it unprofitable for them to do business with dictators will eventually see the light and take their business elsewhere. Without foreign financial support Papadopoulos regime would collapse soon after. Also we did not want to have the blood of anyone in our hands.

This method worked positively even in case of failure if they found the packet before the explosion: Dictators would know that a dynamic revolution was underway, the team in Europe was happy because nothing really serious had occurred (the “bosses” were not at risk and no hassles from international authorities in their homes in Europe and Canada).

PAK was also making money by exploiting the work we were doing from the

Greek emigrants in foreign countries who wanted to help the fight. This money was to be used by us for supplies, but the money spent elsewhere, like tuition for George Papandreou in Prinston University NJ.

I met with Babis and Manos, and a new man who introduced himself as “Nick” Dimitris Eleftheriadis. We went to inspect the damage to a well-designed job in the port of Piraeus. Something went wrong and the package did not work or demolition expers had enough time to neutralize it. In case it had not worked they should not have come so quickly because it was well hidden. We found many roadblocks in our way in the surrounding area. The target was intact. This had not happened in the past and probably the traitor had done something.

I saw Nick as a frank courageous man who really wanted to do something about Greece. I wanted to contact him later and put him on our team, without the knowledge of the other two but did not have the opportunity for many reasons. However, I was able to make independent contact with Manos. We agreed that Kouris was not good for this job and we had to work without him knowing for the safety of all. As for Zigogiannis, I held him close, so we could monitor and control him. Manos – code name Pavlos – was a resourceful man, something like – Thomas Register – and anything we needed he knew where to find it. Together we planned many successful missions – always following the direction of Europe and Canada – little things with a lot of noise. For example, Canada and Europe / Andreas and John wanted to hit cars with diplomatic plates. The idea was that the embassies will give the message to their masters and then will vote on resolutions of the UN and elsewhere against the regime Papadopoulos. That was not working so we increased the volume of small targets. Banged cars with diplomatic plates, but we did at about 2am while in Athens and suburbs. Another desire was of Canada and Europe was to hit the stores of national and foreign banks for the same political reasons (plus the fact that all their customers would spread the news of a revolution – which we hoped would boost the spirits of a Sad country ). We Increased the volume to many banks “the same night at the same time and all over Athens”. Europe / Andreas and John ware not very happy with this as they were not accustomed to such activity. And could not manage the demand to increase supplies and could not send the supplies quickly. We had the feeling that something bad was around the corner and we were not wrong.

I went with Manos in Thessaloniki to receive supplies by train from Germany and get a suitcase supplies. The instructions on who and how to get in touch with him on the train was so bad we never met the man, if they really had sent someone. We had to abandon the effort as there was the risk of attracting a lot of attention in the guarded train station. This was the second warning that our time was over.

Approximately eight months had passed and for the first time in the history of PAK, they had been so many successful jobs and none of the people in PAK had been arrested by the junta! In coffee shops around Athens people were talking of the explosions and “revolution” openly. The armchair generals in Europe were beginning to be impatient. They Needed heroes for political purposes. And we spoiled their plans by making our job properly without getting caught. The Dictators were also frustrated because they could not catch us and both they and Europe began to make huge mistakes. Papandreou’s was very awkward with his mistakes with us, while the dictators lost control of the student movement at the Polytechnic School in Athens.

The speed of developments was to increase to a level that no one acted, but reacted. The night the tanks drove through the main gate of the University over the students who had limed on it Manos and I broke up and went diferent directions to do wht came to each of us as a target of opportunity and hit it. We did not do anything and I was almost killed. I was in a small alley on the north side of the Polytechnic that was filled with hundreds of angry people. I went close to those who looked like they had taken the forefront and I told them that if all together we raced towards Alexandra Avenue to the parked armored vehicles, watched only by a dozen cops we had a good opportunity to take control of the vehicles. The idea excited everyone and soon a large mass of people began to move towards the parked armored vehicles.

I was at the forefront and I fired a few shots at the cops who looked scared and confused and retreated behind the northwest corner of the intersection. My surprise was great when almost immediately they began to return to their original position behind the armored vehicles. Bullets were flying on the road around me. The poor police training saved my life. I looked around me and found that I was alone in the middle of the avenue – the sound of the shots from my gun had scared the people a lot and they raned away. For coverage, I got on my knees and fired a few times at the cops. Cops fell behind vehicles, either fearful or hit, but this gave me time to run to the park area.

I saw this spot at Alexandras Avenue being used 31 years later by all political parties in the elections of 7 March 2004, where George Papandreou lost, allowing the election to go to the right, the New Democrats! I met with Manos later in the morning, at around 6 am and we knew it was time for real war. We were almost at the end of supplies and had begun to feel the pressure of the dictators (and our own group), narrowing around us. We Had to do a great job in response to what happened at the Polytechnic, and had to do it immediately.

Manos had a little home in Lavrio and told me about a large factory in his district. So we planned the job of Lavrio. The target was a chemical plant that manufactured materials for napalm bombs for the Vietnam War. We started by mapping the route of going back and forth, along with alternatives for any foreseeable emergency hitch. Also, we made educational routes and times numbered. On one of these test trips I had an accident with my motorcicle and this delayed the project for a month – my right wrist was broken and I improvise a portable splint that can be removed when I was out of my house.

We were ready to execute the plan on Feb. 22, 1974. Thirty years later, February 22, 2004 was the last day of my painting exhibition in Athens, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Progress, Akis Tsochatzopoulos, an old friend from our time in Germany. Akis had helped us and hosted one of us in Germany until the fall of the dictatorship

The plan:

Manos and I ware going to approach the plant from the side bordering the sea. It was the side that was not protected and we had the best chance to achieve the installation with the storage tanks to put five packets, each with enough explosives, all we had left, to throw a building down. We walked a rocky sea beach about a mile away from the target with packets in backpacks on our back, we will cut the barbed wire fence and placed the packages under tanks with flammable materials.

All went “well” and walked back to meet Zigogianis a few miles away in a wooded hill across the road from the target. He Was waiting there (this was the starting and ending point. He was to have a girl with him pretending they were making out in the woded area. If all went well he had to wait there until our return . If something went wrong he had to go to Athens and be ready to leave town. We also Had a second car a few miles down the road under an old underpass for just in case, so the Manos and I could to drive back to Athens through an alternative route. Babis and Europe knew nothing about the plan.

The night before the job we had a meeting: the four of us – Manos Zigogiannis, the girl and I, and we went over every detail of the project. I did not know the real name of the girl and we never met again. It was a calm brave young girl who wanted to help with all her heart to liberate Greece. As we were returning to walk back to my car a black cat ran vertically on my route. This made more tens and increased my senses for survival. I felt like I was more than one person overseeing the safety and success of the operation

We met the next evening and drove to Lavrio. We left the second car under the underpass and then continued with Zigogiannis and the girl in the wooded hill to a spot sheltered by trees and with a good view of the factory. Manos and I, with heavy backpacks on our backs, we walked into the water and began a more difficult route than was anticipated, over the slippery rocks. I was at front and Manos was right behind me. As we were glidinf over the large rocks and running trying to get done faster, I slipped and fell on a rock and I thought this was the end. The timing detonators that John had sent us were faulty and I used some cheap watches that I bought from a shop on Athinas street They were not very reliable for maintaining time and turning them into timing detonator devices was not the best of my handy work.

With all these elements in mind I thought I had just die taking out Mano who was right behind me. I turned to see and he looked at me with a big smile, he knew that death had just passed over our heads. We arrived at the point where ther were the storage tanks. We started cutting the fence and approached the target. The packages were all in place in less than two minutes apart from the last one was still in the bag on my back. I was Wedged beneath a small tank when I slide down to take cover when a security guard appeared suddenly. Manos came to save me, he carefully removed the package from my back and placed it under the tank. I was released and both left for the rocky beach. We were flying over the slippery rocks.

As we approached the foot of the hill where Zigogiannis was suppose to be waiting for us, we noticed a car going in the opposite direction in the wooded area and stopped at a dark spot and turned the lights off. We did not like it and decided to go take a look before we go up the hill to the meeting point. To our surprise, the car was Zigogiannis olone without the girl! What the hell was he doing in the wrong place? We slowly approach him, when we opened the door hi was like seeing ghosts. He said he was tired of waiting and decided to drive into town to buy cigarettes!! Then he told us that once went up and down the village’s main square, for a few times (why?) he was stopped by police and at their request, gave them his name and address. He felt it was better to put the girl on the bus and send her to Athens – the only witness of what had really happened was gone forever. When I asked him what he was doing here instead of the top of another hill, he said he was going to go there after he piss here! The other side was not good for a piss? I I knew that we had been betrayed. We got in the car and drove back. On the way Manos got the second car under the overpass. We drove straight to Zigogiannis House in Gyzi.

The police had his address and did not have any time to waste. I waited in the car while he went to get the contact book and his stuff. He came down with a couple of cardboard boxes and a suitcase, and we went to my new home. he was nervous when he saw that I had moved and did not know about it. When we stopped he said “Fuck, I left the book with my contacts!” I told him we had to go back and get them. When we approached the area of the house, there was a strong police activity. Turned around and rode back to my home. He was very calm as if he had passed hes exam at school and looked forward to graduating – A leader waving the masses below the balcony, like the Queen of England. I knew that we were safe in my new home for a few days because I saw the surprise Zigogiannis face “this meant that Canada and Europe / Andreas and John, the dictators, and the authorities did not know where we were.

The next morning I got a newspaper and read the headlines. Two pyrotechnic experts killed in the factory. Evedently one of the devises did not worked and The junta sepert for clues ordered the experts to explore and find information within the explosive device rather that detonating it in a safe mode, They lost their lives that night. Our plans were not to do harm people. I had to take the chanse to leave Zigogiannins home alone. I told him that he sould not leave the house, because every police car will have his picture, and would shoot him as soon as they saw him. He was terrified by this and for the time he will remain at home.

I asked my wife to have a small bag ready because she would leave for Europe to put the plan in motion for our ecape to Europe. I called Manos and met with him in the center of Athens. He Called Kouris and told him the news and to prepare a bag, he was to go to Europe. I Pay the tickets for Kouris and Andrea. We drove to the airport Andrea. Manos went to meet babis and give him instructions and his ticket.

Our escape plan was this: Andrea would go to Switzerland to meet with John. She will aske him 1) to get a big car – powerful – to go through barricades 2) two hunting rifles and ammunition for battle at close range 3) three fake passports for Andrea Manos and me. 4) a secure address to hide for 3-4 days in Athens. These things were meant to make everyone in Europe believe we were going to go to Europe via Thessaloniki, using the names of the fake passports. If I was right and there was a conspiracy everyone will be wating for as in Thessaloniki (border with Yugoslavia). This would give us a chance to catch a ferry to Italy from Patras, 600 kilometers in the opposite direction from Thessaloniki.

When I went back home Zigogiannis told me there was a problem with the toilet and we had to call a plumber. I told him he was crazy and that from now on he was going to pee in the sink of the bathroom and take a shit in a plastic bag – I took the shit out each day. Until Andre came back I wanted to have an alternative place to hide. I could not trust what was going on with the traitor. I called John in Switzerland and asked him for a phone number for an alternative hideout. Looked at the number several times. There was no mistake on my part to displaying the number and decoding it. I called the number and went with Manos to meet the person with the alternative hide out. He was so surprised when we told him that we have some gifts from his cousin in Germany. This was the cue for recognition. We realized immediately that we were in the wrong house, and jokingly told him No gifts for you, the gifts his cousin had sent from Germany. We left immediately. It was the wrong person, and it happened to be a police captain!! Was it really a mistake? Now I know that it was not a mistake. Our time was over, Canada and Europe wanted us to get caught. I checked later my gans and the little 22 I always stuck tied behind my back, the bullets were for me, I was not going to get caught alive.

Andrea arrived in a white Buick Skylark 4 door that looked like a barge next to the cars of the Greek police. I immediately took the car to a friend’s garage and transported the metal wall support in the rear 20 inches backwards, I painted the welding marks – create a space – hideout for Zigogiannis between the back of the rear seat and the trunk. The next morning we put Zigogiannis in the hiding place. We took the car and drove to Patras to catch a ferry to Italy. He was very upset that we were leaving Greece – deprived of the opportunity to be caught and become a hero, as planned. No “balcony” for him.

We had to stop several times because the bastard complained that it was uncomfortable. We arrived at the ship just before departure, during the pre-launch chaos, passengers and police were anxious to see the ship depart. Andrea handed our passports to the police putting her U.S. passport on top. The guard stamped the passports and wished us a pleasant journey. We drove in the belly of the ferry.

What had just happened for one part was good because our plan was good and we were leaving and the other part was ugly because now it was clear that Europe had betrayed us. We had passed the police checkpoint using our real names and our real passports.. Amazing the most wanted group of people and no one is looking for them. This can only mean one thing: they were not looking for our real names but probably the false names in Thessaloniki – which meant there was a conspiracy at the top of the organization of PAK. Now what we had to do was to find out who was the leader of the betrayal and the rest of the conspirators.

Heroes and Traitors – 4

The ship cast off and we were on our way. We parked the car and we had a discussion with Zigogiannis. We told him to stay in the car during the whole trip. We went to our cabin and Manos went to explore the ship. I had a compass with me to watch the direction of the ship. Halfway to Italy, late night, the compass took a 180 degree turn which meant that we were going back. The door to the lower level where the car was parked was locked with all our weapons in the car. I looked around for something I could use as a weapon. There was nothing but some wire hangers. Improvise and did something like an ice pic and two loops using the wire from the wire hangers.

Manos was very calm and smiling as if nothing was going on and Andrea admired the arts and crafts of my hangers. I was the only one who was about to go crazy in the cabin. I checked the compass again and had just begun to slowly turn the other way, it took about 10 minutes to get back to our original direction. Whether there was a correction in our way or maneuvering to avoid the shallow waters I don’t know. We were going to Italy and it was very good for my nerves. I looked at my new weapons and looked like it could done the job! The door on the lower level was now open and Manos went downstairs to check on Zigogiannis. We found him sitting in the back seat with the light of the cabin open reading a book.

There were even more books that decorated the dashboard. Everything one needs to know of how to make a bomb to how to start a revolution, was there. He also spread all our weapons throughout the cabin of the Buick. All this at a distance of 10 meters from the watchman who was watching TV! We put him back in his hiding place, with all the books and finally we were again armed. The night watchman was not moving mabe sleeping. he slept with his eyes open on TV, or did not care about what was happening with cars and people around him.

When we turned up at our cabin, I told Manos that I was very impressed by how he kept his composure. He smiled and said, “with a little help of my friend Johnie Walker.” Few more hours and we were in Brindisi. Went to the car and we took our place to disembark. Was talking to Zigogiannis constantly keeping abreast of our progress and we decided to not make any noise when we were next to the checkpoint.

When the officer asked for our passports Zigogiannis who could also listen to everything at this juncture began kicking the rear seat back and shouting something like “Are we there yet? Can not stay in the trunk anymore!” Manos hit his head with a blow using his elbow as he was trying to pull his head out and calmed for the moment. Manos Then pretended like he was the one who had made all the noise because hewas so excited that we were in Italy. The police Stomp our passports and we left.

A few minutes later I went to a station to pee and everyone got out. Zigogiannis acted as if he had not done anything wrong and avoided our eyes. Going to the public urinals I followed him and took out my pistol. I wanted to kill him but Manos said “we dont need to get your hands dirty with the blood of the bustard will ask to have a revolutionaries trial when we go to Basel. “Manos was convincing and went to wait for the traitor. We drove all day and Zigogiannis never said a word, he knew that we understand. We left him at a train station in northern Italy, just before the Swiss border, as requested. was to meet with John and come to Basel 2 days later. All representatives of PAK in Europe would come to Basel – to welcome us.

We went to Basel, the first stop was to a great steak dinner. We paid about 100 francs and went in search for a place to stay. In a tourist information center we were given the name of the Lady Fapf, the famous Swiss manufacturer of cotton underwear. My wife knew the name from the time she worked in Switzerland. We Rented two bedrooms in her beautiful house. Obviously something big was happening in the city and many locals with spare rooms gave their names to help with the extra tourists.

It was a very safe place for us for two reasons: first, whether they were looking for us in the registers of hotels, there was no way to find us, and second, we found the mother load with rifles and machine guns with ammunition in one of the cupboards in the upper room in side of the closet. The Lady Fapf said that all the Swiss have guns and they go for military maneuvers every few months. I wondered if we had something like that in Greece how successful dictators would have been. I could imagine, guns come out every window “Anyway, if I go back to Greece I will ask the help of Lady Faph.

Heroes and Traitors – 5

We left Andrea in the house and we went to see Tsekoura. He opened the door suspiciously without hello and let us enter. We told him that we wanted to invite all European leaders of PAK to come to Basel in two days for a meeting ith us. Went to make us coffee. As we talked I noticed a piece of paper with numbers on the garbage bin next to his desk. I followed my instinct and got it. It was the phone number that had given me in Athens when we went to the wrong house with the police captain. This piece of paper was the greatest proof of what was going on. The fact that it was still in the waste basket because he never expected that we get out of Greece and go to his home alive.

The meeting was on the opposite corner from the railway station. We arrived almost at the same time as everyone else. The large rectangular room, there was a very large table about 3 feet wide and 12-14 feet long. As we entered the room, to our left was John Tsecouras who was seated in the center of the edge of the table with Zigogiannis the left side, Babis Kouris to the right. There were windows on both sides of the room: the very left wall behind John and the left side (the long wall in front of us as we entered.) Sat on two chairs from our left as we entered. All those who came after did their best to sit as far away from us as possible.

Tsekouras never welcomed us or say. something like congratulations guys we are glad to see you escape from the junta. And did not give us any message from Andrea Papandreou! And no one in that room said anything to us.

There were many things wrong in this picture that said several things:

One. The leader of the movement PAK was not present for the biggest event in the history of the movement, and did not send any greetings to us via any of his representatives in Europe today in this room!

Two. If Zigogiannis was really one of us, we will be sitting next to us. If he was the person accused of any wrong, John should not have had him on his side, showing his support; Unless John was expecting to be accused also. They had to sit together to defend each other.

Three. And what Babis was doing next to them? (At that time I did not know that when he left did not inform any of the group of INCA. INCA a consumers union used as a front to find volunteers for PAK. More than 30 people were arrested and one of them “Nick”-Dimitri Eleftheriadis was tortured for four months and left out two weeks after the fall of the dictatorship! Babis did not anyone to warn them as he could have done from Europe He had enough time to call everyone. The police did not arrest any until 10 days after we had send Kouris in Europe. This was a big mistake or something more, creating heroes under Kouris command and setting up the road for a career in politics.

4. John Tsekours did not come to welcome us or say something positive for us.

5. John was the one who gave Zigogiannis my real name and phone number to contact while I was undercover and it was clear that he should not have done that.

6. Zigogiannis did his best to make us fail and be captured! At Lavrion, in my house, on board the ship, the Italian passport control point, and when we went to Switzerland, went to see John. As it turned out later to discuss with him their defense to our accusations.

7. John gave me the wrong name and number for a hiding place, who was a sheriff. He gave me a code that was used in the past and there were no misunderstandings or errors with similar numbers. The number found at his home in cart next to his desk.

8. John sent us defective clockworks not working.

9. John was clearly on the side of the man who had betrayed us.

10. John had arranged the meeting and invited everyone. All of them tried to avoid and not sit near us – there were empty chairs on our side, but the people did their best to sit away from us. John must had said something against us and that was part of the plan of defense predisposing everyone against us.

“Us” meant Manos and myself and Andrea (who I asked her to stay at home so they could not kill us all if this was planned.) Our group was the only freedom fighters who did real damage to the Dictators and were the real heroes of PAK, but for some reason it was like we had done something terribly wrong! This day was supposed to be a double victory feast: first, the damage caused to dictators and second, that we all escaped, while the largest manhunt in the history of the dictatorship was in proces and the whole police force in and out of Greece looking for us .

All this made me feel that we were at risk. I used a briefcase, a hard brown Samsonite. I put under the table, I took it, and place it on the table at front of me. I pulled out an envelope with our notes and left it a third open with a pencil holding it from closing. This move made everyone in the room very nervous and everyone looked at each other with confusion and panic. Later, Kolovos told us that everybody was sure that I had enough explosives in the suitcase to take the building with all inside down. my sweater was the only thing in our suitcase but the bluff was good.

We spent several hours recounting our work against the dictatorship and sabotage actions against us and let them draw their own conclusions. Stopped for10 minutes we had a coffee and we started the second part of the meeting, accusing John Tsekouras, George Zigogiannis and others unknown to us, who had participated in this conspiracy.

The conspiracy::

1. The leaders of the movement PAK were guilty of treason intending to create heroes with low cost and strong international publicity (anyone associated with PAK in Greece that tried to do something had been arrested in the past, we were the only ones who managed to escape and even after we had been betrayed.

2.This way members of the PAK outside Greece were not at risk of retaliation by dictators or harassment by local authorities.

3. Leaders of the PAK, would use the reputation of the heroes caught for their political ambitions after the fall of the dictatorship.

We told them that we had to come up with a solution quickly how this conspiracy would clarify and forbid them to send more fighters in Greece before the cleanup of this conspiracy. There was no reaction of defense or objection to what we told them. Not a reasoning like “I can not believe this can be, you’re sure?” And all of them looked at us shaking their head and biting their nails without looking at us.

When we finished we all went without visual

contact or handshakes. What happened to all these people?

It was written on the walls loud and clear what was wrong – The conspirators were all in that room. It was good that I had left the briefcase a third lopen or who knows what they could have tried. Tsecouras and Zigogiannis left hidden behind the front line of those who were departing.

And Babis left after a quick “I’m running late, we’ll talk later.” Kolovos was apointed as the best person to lead us into Germany to a safe house and wait there for a solution. Why Kolovos? Whose idea was that? Its mandate was to have come from Canada-Andrea because Kolovos was an Andrea man. Even today he expects to get a call to take over a ministry.

We went home and got Andrea and we went for dinner at a restaurant overlooking the lake. Andrea was again she was adventurous and tried a dish that looked like a pizza with sushi and cream, still remembers how disgraceful it was. Manos and I had steaks and beer. That same night we left for Germany – Stuttgart with Kolovos for his home. 31 years later, Kolovos told me that Andreas Papandreou called later that night and asked him why – Manos and I tried to kill them all!! Kolovos told him that this was not the case and it was misinformation, then Papandreou told him to keep us there and not leave us out of his eyes, until he come to Germany to speak to us. Baloni everyone wan in this crap. Why he did not ask to talk to us? Maybe he did not want to wake us up? Or Kolobos was playing a double game; (Note 1/10/12 He was playing double game)

A month after Papandreou asked the bravest of all in Europe, Anthony Diamantopoulos, to kill us. Papandreou came to Germany three months later after we had left for America.

My questions then and now;

Why Papandreou never tried to contact us directly and speak to us when we went to Greece? Neither “congratulations,” or anything.

Why he did nothing to discover and address the conspiracy? Because he was the leader of the conspiracy.

Why were two attempts on my life in New York? In 1980 and 1984;

While we were in Germany, calling Canada 2-3 times a week at his home in Toronto and left messages with Angela and never called us back. Why at the end, his secretary Angela Kokkola asked us how much we wanted to forget everything and go in peace. Because the man was a weak man, feared everyone who does not kiss his ass. When he became prime minister of Greece, things became worse for all of our team;

Why apointed John Tsekoura in the senate?

Why he made Zigogiannis head of a government agency?

Why he did not prosecute the dictators?

Why he gave orders for our murder?

I do not think that all this was to avoid returning the money I had spend. The facts speak volumes, the answers are written all over the walls loud and clear: He was the head of the conspiracy. He was exposed and tried to protect himself in the best way we could.

A week later, on our return from Sweden, we moved to Kalsruhe, home of Katina Bexi. She did not remember that we had met in 1967, but became our best friend and supporter. We spent endless nights in her living room, smoking her cigarettes, drinking coffee and talking and analyzing everything – the conclusion was always the same: We all had been betrayed and we were in danger. For this reason I sent Andrea back to America, and Manos and I stayed with Katina hoping we would find something to see that we had made a mistake with our suspicions.

 Heroes and Traitors – 6

Manos wife, Lena was in Athens. We could not take her with us. Not because she knew our business (not), but because she had problems getting a passport, was a Greek from Egypt. A week after we had fled from Greece the secret police went to her hair salon and turned everything inside out looking for incriminating evidence. The customers raned outside and watched the destruction of the store. They found nothing and then got into a black car at went to the main police station in Bouboulinas Street – behind the University.

She was left to wait for a few hours while listening to the screams coming from the basement, supposedly by people who were tortured. A moron was the head of Intelligence: Captain Klonaris. His weak little body made her feel superior. He showed her photographs that were collected from each house who had visited looking for us. She Acknowledged Kouris, Paul and Zigogiannis. She Really knew nothing about all this and it was to protect. Manos the last minute when we were leaving he told her that we were going to Italy for businesses to import motorcycles. She is a smart woman and did not take her to long to understand what was happening. They took her back with the black car.

The house and the store was being monitored day and night by secret police that drove taxis and refused to take passengers repeatedly. They took her the next day in the same black car and Klonaris told her that they had a deal for her. Klonaris told her what happened and that if she helped get me they will leave her boyfriend in peace and give them and financial reward. She called Manos and told him about the deal junta was offering to them if they help them ge me. I leasening next to Manos. I waved to him to say yes and take the deal. They will bring her to Frankfurt the next day on April 21, 1974, the seventh anniversary of the dictatorship (They Needed my head as a trophy on the table for Papadopoulos). If Manos agreed to cooperate with all the requirements, he would be free to return together with lena in a profitable life in Greece. Manos accepted the proposal.

First was good that Lena would come out, the second good thing was that we had a day to see what to do. They Led her to school to get her son and told her that she had to think twice about breach of the Agreement. If she did, her son will have an accident.

They gave her a ticket, a new passport, a new suitcase and gave her $ 150 for the costs of travel, they put the other day on the plane. She Called Manos and gave him the number of the flight and the time of arrival in Frankfurt.

We had a simple plan on how to take her and get away of the secret police force which accompanied her. We needed 4 vehicles for our plan, we had only three.

That afternoon, April 21, 1974, Akis Tsochatzopoulos was in Stuttgart giving a speech at a rally with Greek workers to collect money for PAK So the resistance of PAK could continue with their victories against the dictators. They had already made money on our backs, and left us to starve waiting to decide what to do. This continued for the next 31 years. When Akis finished with his speech came to see Kolovou and us. We asked him to lend us his car and some money to help save Lena from the Junta. Akis gave us all the money he had on him and the keys to his new car. Off to Frankfurt in four cars.

Lena came out and waited at the taxi rank in arrivals at the airport. Approached with two cars, Manos opened the door to let her enter and left. I could see the secret police following us with a car close behind. Manos turned and entered the closed garage. Costas Drakopoulos was behind us stopped on the entrance and opened the hood of his car blocking the secret police. Manos led to the exit and we entered the autoband. A few kilometers down to a rest station and we met Kolovos wating in his car. We parked next to the his Mercedes. We left our car there and left with Kolovos. We took the direction of the north, we flip to the next exit and when we were sure that we were not follow. Back to the southbound lanes for Karlsruhe. 20 km later, we stopped at a stop without service where we had left Akis’ car a large Citroen.

We only got a few things from her suitcase there was no time to look everything. Everything else, including the suitcase, stayed in the car with Kolovos, in case there had some bug with tracking devices. Kolovos left for Stuttgart. If someone followed the tracking devices was the wrong car in the opposite direction. We drove to Katina’s in Karlsruhe. Another successful job Katina said when she saw us. For the rest of the week we made plans to get out of Europe and start a new life. We were finished with PAK Papandreou and the rest of the “rebels” of the PAK.

 Heroes and Traitors – 7

Katina was upset that the right-wing and pro-junta were to have scouts Saturday night at the Greek church in Bruchsal? Easter night. A local student was organized for dictators, with their sons Junta families. Had come on Good Friday and the local Greeks were all upset. The Kolovos Theodore spoke to the priest and told him not to dare to appear again.

The priest did not want to take any part in it. Then Kolovos used the name of the legend to scare the priest, at that time I had become a legend. “If you do show up and do not stop them, they will read the epitaph on the night of Easter in church. Apostle L.A.O.S will be in the church waiting for them. The priest did not persuade the organizers of this stupid show support for the murderous regime of Papadopoulos. When a minibus driven by a local merchant, Lazarus KARAPANAGIOTIDIS stopped in front of the church, all the smaller Scouts and their parents to it, the priest tried to second to tell them the news, before out of the car. The bus went left so quickly and in such a way that the priest hurled to the ground. Katina was ecstatic and “talking about it until today; By that time only The sender’s name was enough to make adult men to pee in their pants groups. Being legend is a wonderful thing.

Heroes and Traitors – 8

Lena received a call that her son had an accident with a taxi, certainly one of those who watched her home. It was a warning.

On the second day we arrived in Germany had made endless efforts (2-3 times a week, different times of the day phoning uncle’s house in Toronto, Canada, and always spoke to his secretary Angela Kokola. «Will give him the message ! very busy! preparing for a trip to Australia and has been delayed! This behavior was confirmation that Andreas was a very cowardly man who could not face head-on the problems. At the end Angela asked us “How much we want to forget everything?” The answer was automatic and immediate “our struggle belongs to the Greek people and is not for sale.” the other day out of nowhere John Tsekouras called us and asked us to hand over our weapons to him. We told him “monon lave” come get them but he never came.

Two days later Kolovos called us and told us we were going with him to Sweden to see the Northern man, Anthony Diamantopoulos. He was the right hand of Papandreou in Europe and had the respect of us all. The NORTHMAN wanted to talk with us. We took the car with Dimitri on the same day and drove all night to get to Sweden the next day. Ten kilometers before the border, Kolovos stopped and told us we had to hide our guns in some part on the side of the road, because the border control was very strict.

Wrap our arms in a plastic bag and buried in a farmland on the side of the road. Ten minutes later we had the easiest checkpoint I had ever seen. We drove slowly through the alleys of the city after the border and noticed some water pistols hanging in a candy store. I asked Kolovos to stop to buy cigarettes. I walked along the street and went inside to get cigarettes and two water pistols that were very close to actual size. I returned to the car and everyone lit a cigarette, in a way I gave Manos the pink gun when Kolovos was not looking – after all that we had spent together we developed a non-verbal way of communication. Manos realized what he had to do he placed the gun in the inside pocket of his jacket to his chest, just as I have done on my own in the shop.

Thirty minutes later we arrived at our destination. It was a two-story house. We climbed the stairs to the top floor and as we were on the landing of the stairway and the door opened us to enter. There was a small area before the main hall. As we entered, to the right there us a table with a pair of chairs on the wall and the other two on the front but just outside the center of the room. The man who had opened the door was the clown that I had seen in Italy, bringing the bottle of whiskey in the room where I had my meeting with Papandreou on my way to Greece.

The NORTHMAN became the second man in the room and Kolovos. Welcomed us and offered to sit on two chairs in the center of the room. Immediately left the room with Kolovos and closed the door behind them. We were alone with the clown, his name was Michael Ziangas. I signal Manos to follow my lead and everyone took a corner opposite the desk on the far side of the room. A large carpet covered the center of the room with two chairs meant for us on the center. As if only he who sat on two chairs needed the carpet. Ten minutes later NORTH and Kolovos returned.

They lost their pace once they saw that Manos and I had control of the area. They sat behind the table and he and the clown did not know what to do. The NORTH Asked Zianga to leave. We started talking. Any time the NORTHMAN put his hands under the table I moved my hand on my chest and on the other side of the jacket opposite where was my water pistol. Manos did the same at the same time and this caused confusion to NORTH.

He planned to shoot two unarmed men at close range and then wrap them neatly on the carpet with the help of the clown and Kolovos and the other man with him. Instead of this, he was faced with – two “armed” men away from each other, with command of the room. Regardless of how fast and how well he could shoot, he could not be sure that the last person would not have time to take a shot at him. This saved our lives, because it gave us plenty of time to talk and give him all the details and the evidence and arguments and make him see that the well-wishers and Andreas Papandreou did wrong. He did not want to believe the rest of our history that Andreas Papandreou himself would do such a thing and that was probably the others of hiding the truth from him. We wanted to believe the same thing!

Kolovos agreed with him about Andreas. How two very smart men can be so blind? And they were not alone and we like to think the opposite of what we had discovered. But Andreas Papandreou, knew exactly what it was going on and the people around him were responsible! 10.000.000 Greeks suffered because of him, drink intrigues and murders preparing the way for his premiership.

Heroes and Traitors – 9

The NORTH confessed about the plan to kill us in December 2003, 30 years later in a letter signed on his bed in the hospital one day before he died. His best friend George Chatzimixail (the other one at the room in Malmö) also signed as part of the project and Lakis Lazopoulos was the witness.

The confession letter:

Anthony Diamantopoulos – NORTHMAN PAK Sweden

I was responsible for the PAK in Sweden and for the safety of Andreas Papandreou in Sweden and in Europe when he was here and in Europe. I was also responsible for PAK – L.A.O.S and supply materials sender unit – Gregory Christeas Paul – Manos Gkritzalis which was the main unit of L.A.O.S. Their achievements were the stronger throughout our struggle against the junta.

After leaving Greece, betrayed, and looking for answers in Europe I got the order from Canada to kill them. For this purpose invited them to Malme, Sweden. When I met them and we talked I realized that there were the most honest fighters and that there is a conspiracy against them. I’m on their side in their quest for recognition of our struggle against the Junta, as this will stop the lies of 30 years and provide an example for the youth in our country that the contribution to our country acknowledged and not forgotten.

With militant greetings to the completion of our struggle.

 Anthony Diamantopoulos – NORTH

Sweden

George Chatzimihail – German

We were on the way back, everyone in the car was silent. Kolovos said: “Well, what did we think? The NORTH is now on our side.” Manos and I with one voice – so what! Kolovos not admitted that he knew about the order of our murder until 1995, when I met him again in Athens.

We went to the place where we had our guns, we took then I gave Kolovos the water pistols he said laughing: “dirty bastards you had me going”

We stopped in Denmark and spent the night there because we were in the middle of a blizzard. We had a long discussion over dinner for everything and the next day we returned to Germany. We had no money, no support, and many enemies. What went wrong? We lost the ball, leaving others to decide our future. The next move should be ours.

Katina was shocked when she heard the news. We sold the Buick and used the money to pay for our tickets. I went to meet my wife in New York and Manos and Lena went to see friends in Canada. A month later they came to New York.

Heroes and Traitors – 10

In July of the same year 1974, the dictatorship fell and Manos and Lena returned to Greece. So did Papandreou and the rest of his men. What is interesting is that Papandreou did not take responsibility for our work in Greece-was afraid that we were somewhere around and would blurt out what he did. If he Had exploit it he would have won the first free elections, but hiding the real story of PAK postponed his victory for Prime Minister in Greece to 1981.

The Andrew and I save some money and returned to Greece in 1976 to give birth to our children in Athens and planning to stay in Greece, if we could.

For three years I was faced with so many problems that had really put barricades and feared for the safety of my family. All this time I made several attempts to see Papandreou (maybe that was the reason for my problems) but never crossed the threshold of his home or office. Our daughter was born first and after the birth of my son Elia in March 1979, I sold a small business that I had to pay our bills and we returned to America. My son was less than one month. We went to New York with about $ 50,000 that I had from the company I sold. I was lucky with an investment in the stock market and almost doubled my money in 30 days. I took all the money and start over again.

 Heroes and Traitors – 11

I always thought that I could fend for anything that happen, and that was a mistake, because I never asked for help. As a result, I relive this nightmare every day and every night, every week and every month for over 37 years. My whole life is a flashback! One evening I saw a comedy at HBO with George Carlin? He had made a joke about the euphemism in the words they use to describe the terrible things. One of them was shell-shock using for Vietnam veterans (Cell shock psychological effect when shot at ) At that moment I knew what was the monkey on my back.

The next day I created the painting “Lovely Day” to commemorate the discovery of me – the answer was automatic. I had to be the driver and not the passenger in my life. I turned back to Greece in 1994 and had an art exhibition and invited all my friends to celebrate 20 years of democracy that we help return to Greece. At that time, more efforts were made by me and the rest of the team to get in touch with Andreas Papandreou. Nothing again.

We had a meeting: Kolovos, NORTH, Manos, Katina and Mitsos Costas. Kolovos affected all saying that if the story came out the publicity could harm the movement of PASOK. All voted to wait, big mistake. Also, he said that no one would believe us after Papandreou controlled the media and television. We were all fools. Once again I took the back seat in my life. I left for America again.

Papandreou on the other hand helped the clown Ziagas Michael to make a fortune and John Tsecouras become an senator and George Zigogiannis manager in a government agency. I wonder why!

2003 For the believability of our story I decided to set a trap and try to do make it tempting for anyone who was ever against us or was afraid to come closer and shake our hand and the rest of the group, in a direct way will be recorded that we are the ones ho we say we are. “I developed a website with all my artwork, including a special section honoring some of those who do not deserve it and the rest of our team with a series of paintings. donate also limited edition copies of these artworks to charitable organizations.

In November 2003, Andrea and I mortgage our home for $35,000 so I can go back to Greece and finish the race with the recognition of our team and than tell the story of what had happened. In December, I arrived in Athens and I contacted Charalampos Kouris, who had good relations with them and I told him the reason for my return. I wanted to have an art show to be financed by PASOK and to invite everyone to come and take as a gift paintings devoted to them. We went to Akis Tsochatzopoulos (the development minister at the time), who was enthusiastic and deliver the project and asked Nikos Dimadis president EOT (Greek Tourism Organization) to be the sponsor of the show. He also promised to call everyone and ask them and show their support by purchasing paintings to cover the terrible costs of this. It was the easiest way to get rid of us. All have operated at lower levels than expected. Some came, including Akis who gave a great speech recognizing all of as national heroes, nobody bought anything, and Dimadis the EOT has not paid some vendors to art exhibition with about 18.600 €. But the main goal is achieved. We were there, proclaiming the proof of what we did and no one dared to challenge it. Later we can tell the story about who Papandreou was.

Heroes and Traitors – 12

Now is the time for the final step to finish what I started.

I wrote a letter to George Papandreou (the new leader of PASOK) and hand it to the captain of his guard in his office, on March 8, 2004, one day after the election he lost. On March 10, two days later we met with the Secretary General Chryssochoidis (second in command) of PASOK and asked him to read the letter with our presence, so could not say later that he lost it and did not know anything about it. After reading it he said of how upset he was that such injustice, terrible thing could go on for so long. He said he would meet with Papandreou the next day and would call us. This was on March 10 – a Wednesday.

I saw him on the TV news with Papandreou to visit the island of Crete at the weekend. Surely had enough time to talk about my letter.

Monday, March 15, five days later, I called him and talked to the secretary and asked for a response that was overdue. I’m still waiting for a call from him and Papandreou.

I called the TV channel ALTER, and spoke with Angela – the TV show “Jungle”. I told her to see my website papandreou-pasok.info for my letter to George Papandreou and other details of our history that I had posted. In 10 minutes she called me back. Would be interesting for the story behind my letter. Through internet I gave some more information and she would come to Hydra August 27, 2004, to make a video for the first telecast. She Came to Hydra with a camera crew and videotaped my story against Papandreou and his gang.

Below is the letter I gave to George Papandreou and Chryssochoidis.

PAK Panhellenic Liberation Movement

LAOS People’s Liberation Army Organized

dear George

In 1972, I had a two hour meeting with Andreas Papandreou and Costas Tsimas at Berkley University of San Francisco. We decided A. With my own expense I would go to Greece to organize and start the armed struggle against the junta. B. Andreas and PAK would provide me political coverage and contacts in Europe.

A few months later my wife Andrea and I sold everything we owned in New York to finance and organize the resistance against the dictatorship of 1967. Code named Apostolis, I organized in 1973 the most dynamic resistance organization of PAK in Greece, L.A.O.S (Organized People’s Liberation Army) starting the “armed struggle” against junta. (NOTE 1/10/2012 – A con man stole the name and named a new extreme right party)

In response to the events of the Polytechnic, designed and performed the stronge hit against the Junta: Lavrion on 22 -02-1974. After that, the group was betrayed, but we, we managed to escape abroad with the help of my wife, together with the traitor of our team, George Zygogiannis.

In March 1974, we show all representatives of PAK in Basle, Switzerland. There, we presented all the evidence of betrayal and the names of offenders. The accusation was that there was a conspiracy plan to take advantage of the honest, dynamic freedom fighters before they do any damage to the dictatorship.

And, for the following reasons:

1. To create a positive climate for P.AK by creating martyrs,

2. Become the leaders of the movement away from any risk of jounta and local authorities abroad.

The above reasons were intended to secure the victory of PAK in free elections after the fall of the Junta – with no intention whatsoever to disclose the work of real freedom fighters who had made sacrifices for the freedom of Greece.

The political leaders of PAK had no intention of sharing the “glory” of sacrifice with the active revolutionaries of the movement.

 The following important facts:

1. The representatives of the movement never did anything for the investigation of the treason. They knew that we need immediate help in Germany, but instead of help ignored us and isolate us. We Survived in Germany with the help of the family Bexis.

2. John Tsekours, one of the accused for treason (which was one of the leading members of the movement, and Yes-man of Andreas Papandreou) sought to deliver our guns a week before we were asked to go to Sweden.

3. Significant members of PAK, who took our side, were blacklisted. After the fall of the Junta, these membrs were isolated, or were given small jobs without any activity.

4. From the Desk of Andrea in Toronto, Kanada his Secretary Angela asked us how much we want to forget everything. We responded that our struggle is part of the Greek people and not for sale.

5. By command of Andreas Papandreou, led by Dimitris Kolovos to Sweden. With our arrival there, the plan of our murder was aborted when we revealed to Anthony Diamantopoulos-“Borios” the conspiracy against us, thus avoiding our murder. Thirty years later, “Borios” two days before he died he signed his confession for the order of our execution, which had been given to him byAndreas Papandreou.

6. The “North” because he had taken our side he was isolated from the political movement until the day he died in 2003.

7. Kostas Tsimas, responsible for North America, pretended that he took our side when he came to speak to us in Germany to be able to isolate us and keep us in limbo. Later, Papandreou rewarded him, making him head of the Intelligence Services, and eight years Europian senator. And last, in his book “Pages of Life” does not mention the story of L.A.O.S that was what the dynamic organization of PAK and seven years and he was my contact in America and our organization. (Why;)

8. People, responsible for the betrayal, were rewarded with government positions, when PASOK was Government. Tsekouras backed by Papandreou and became an EU senator, while Zygogiannis was made director of a state agency.

9. Systematically suppressed the history and our accomplishments as well as the isue of our betrayal.

In 1976, my wife and I returned to Greece, to have our children in Athens. They put so many roadblocks in my way, I was forced in 1979 to go back to the United States with my daughter one year old and my one month old son. The junta clean up never happened and that was the main reason I brought up my children in the U.S..

Since then I have repeatedly come to Greece for the vindication of our team. But always economic reasons compel me to return to the U.S.

In December 2003, I mortgaged my home in New Jersey and came to Greece to finally finish our struggle and to vindicate my team or to force the old political leaders of PAK to renew the order of my murder.

For this reason, I planned an art show, «Greek Spirit and Freedom”, held in honor and vindication of my team..

Invited the Prime Minister and all Ministers and of PASOK, but everyone ignored us. The Ministry of Development and Tourism was the sponsor of this exhibition at the old airport (from 4 until 22-02-2004).

The problems I had in 1976 are the same I encountered again. On the second day the space was left without lights and heating. Many visitors and a TV crew, were prevented from coming to the show.

Greece has embraced every winning athlete, but has never shown the same sensitivity to the real heroes, freedom fighters, who were tortured, killed and gave their youth and their future, to liberate Greece.

When 37 years ago we all cared about their lives and their studies, our choice was to fight for freedom. And we were winners. But our lives changed forever and we all live since then experiences nightmares that make our lives difficult. Every day that Greece refuses to recognize us, it becomes more difficult for us. Is the pain unbearable in betraying your people. The spheres of the Junta will not hurt so much.

Of sensitivity expected in the aftermath of the elections to the announcement of our truth. Dear George, we require direct contact with you in the hope that in the spirit of change that diakiryteis as the new leader of PASOK “the P.A.S.O.K will return to his roots, because anyone who does not honor its roots, not has a future. ” This will bring an end to injustice and isolation of 30 years and will help in the moral and economic rehabilitation team LAOS missions. I still think it will galvanize the youth to give a little time from their lives as we did to get a better life for everyone.

Sincerely

Gregory Christeas

Never give up Never surrender

Heroes and Traitors – chapter 13

We had a meeting with Harry Kouri in his office with Manos Eleftheriadis and Dimitris. March 17th, 2004, one day before I left for Geneva to meet an old friend of mine, Carl. The code name of my friend was “plastic”, and for 30 years he held some ‘stuff’ for me hidden in the old fort Krigier. All were against for publishing our history.

The general consensus was that I only had the option to go to the States, when they darken things here. But the rest stay here to face the conspirators and persecution against them. I agreed with it, and said:

1) I’ll will not go back to the U.S., I will stay here with you.

2) I will take responsibility for the work in Lavrio and if there is anyone still looking for revenge on the two men killed in factory can come to me, no one can kill me – I died in 1974 Malme, Sweden . Now I’m bulletproof.

For now, I’m thinking to go to Hydra and remember some good days.

A few days ago Angela called me and said: Unfortunately … ALTER can not make the show! The reason that every one who speaks for the attempted execution refers to Canada * not Andreas Papandreou. I am very disappointed with journalists ALTER. 3 Months later Makis Triantafilopoulos bought a villa in Ekali! for consideration of silence; If not, it is never too late let’s do the show right now.

To understand this you must know that that period 1967-1974 were talking with passwords because dictators had ears everywhere, and when we went on a mission with explosives did NOT sign labor contracts and we do not stick stamps to have proof today, nor supplemented applications for dispatching. At that time, the names of Canada and uncle were synonyms of Andreas Papandreou. And this piece of our life was so very strong that all stayed with us, like it was yesterday, just a few minutes ago. How can we call a man a different name, just a few minutes ago we knew as Canada. All of my team still today don’t call me Gregory. but Apostoli The cause does not matter, but the end result, and ALTER TV and Triadafilopoulos dropped us like a hot potato. (- 2006 November called Alter for a copy of the video interview with Manos and my own “They Deny that they know me!”)

In 2005 I had a divine gift, I met my wife Nourngoul. Everything has become even easier and less painful. It is amazing and incredible to be happy again.

31/10/2005 I found some of the documents to prove that Toronto or Canada or Andreas were one and the same person. It is a proclamation, a brochure Papandreou released in Canada to collect money for himself about what we did in Greece. His son, the current Prime Minister of Greece, often went to the mailbox and took the letters with the money of emigrants who thought they helped to freedom of Greece.

Many questions had not been answered so far and new questions developed since my returned to Greece. But new revelations discoveries have come to the internet and a book called Confessions of an Economic Hit Man. Eventually all the responses have been found and all the associated dots forming the image. The picture is complete.

I just finished reading Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, the John Perkins. The Perkins and our team crossed our paths 1973-1974. And I realized that we were a little bit in bouillabaisse of American foreign policy, for the guardianship of oil, the Mediterranean and the Middle East!

The foreign policy of America was and is a great paradox for me. In America, the USA, all strive for our personal happiness and prosperity, we give trillions to charitable organizations run to help a family in need on the opposite side of the world to help a country on the other side of the earth and we are always ready to sacrifice everything for freedom and democracy as it was in Greece’s Leonidas. The “designers of U.S. foreign policy” can’t be Americans or at least the same as all of us who strive to realize our dreams without destroying our neighbors.

Always our foreign policy is in contrast to the above and often supported dictatorships like Papadopoulos. Our foreign policy has created anti-Americanism around the world. I have not found the answer to this paradox if you have it please tell me.

The questions remained unanswered since then

1. What Andreas Papandreou betray us?

Reply – explanation

From the book by John Perkins

P 36. Chilean President Allente murdered, and the CIA helped Pinochet in power 1973-1990. I think this was very convincing about what might happen to him, and Papandreou signed the contract in 1974 (copy of the contract at http / papandreou-pasok.info). The contract for the project began an economic murder of Greece and tradition of territorial rights to U.S. groups. 1) for oil deposits in the Aegean and 2) Strategic missile bases for control / protection of oil reserves of the Middle East in the U.S.. Dissolution of left and preservation of the partition of Cyprus. these objectives pursued by his son today.

* Negotiations for this agreement were initiated in the spring-summer 1973. This was the time when George Zigogianis was sent to participate in our group and betray us.!

2. Why Andreas Papandreou ordered our murder?

It was The guarantee he was asked to give the CIA that will not deviate from the contract: to betray the resistance (our team). When we learned about his betrayal, and refused bribe to keep quiet he ordered our murder.

2. Why the CIA did nothing to us?

The order to murder us with Andreas Papandreou was incriminating evidence the CIA could use it anytime to blackmail him and keep him in line. And Co. has access to the media.

4. The new questions: Why George Papandreou surrendered the independence of Greece and do what it can to bring Greece into financial ruin;

Whatever happens after the fall of the dictatorship in 1974 is part of U.S. foreign policy and the plan was designed for this part of the world, rich in oil deposits. All of the “wrong” movements of George Papandreou are part of the U.S. plan have done and ordered by the U.S., and is part of the agreement of his father, Andreas Papandreou had signed in 1973.

* Page 94. The protection of oil reserves in the U.S. and control of the area was always job # 1 in the U.S.. After 1973, it became persistence and efforts proliferated and JECOR created.

The Greece because of its strategic location and large oil deposits in the Aegean, was part of this escalation in U.S. efforts to more oil and more control of the region in 1973. Later, when the EU was created, was born and a strong threat to the dominance of the U.S. dollar and the euro. The U.S. helped Greece to enter the EU, because Greece was intended to serve as a Trojan horse for the collapse of the European Union and its currency. 1/10/2012 what become today.

The only way to get out of the recession and take the road to economic recovery, countries like Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal refuse to pay the loans had to get out of the corrupt politicians. Was instructed by Siemens and other German and French institutions acting as agents for the implementation of their foreign policy designed by the international banking system. And punish the corrupt culprits, to work for the independence of their country. Exit Babel of Europe back to their national currencies and moral values. Other cooperation with Europe and other dependence on Europe. The story that the association-dependence and a currency without a state does not work only for states with conquering purposes.

The Germans are coming back; with partners in the Greek Parliament. The clear solution is not all that they have done the political collaborators and foreign agents like George Papandreou. To make a new start in the opposite direction in order to real democracy, independence and prosperity. This can only be done by us. This soil is not theirs and ours. It is only ours.

my proposal to change the destructive path to independence and prosperity course in 24 months.

1. Verification of the alleged debt on accuracy conditions and numbers.

2. Requirement from Germany and Direct activation of international judgments about the money we owe Germany since the war. Loans thefts and damages.

3. Freeze payments to creditors until we activated a new Collection mechanism, with the help and participation of our creditors. O mechanism will collect the money from Germany and will pay according creditors and us. Why will accept; You will lose all if you do not accept.

4. Return of a 50% haircut that conclude that owe gift and 20% extra for the help and participation of our creditors on the new collection mechanism will lick us give them the job.

5. Direct activation of exploitation by the state sources of wealth such as natural gas, oil, gold, coal, etc.

6. Cooperation with all democratic states and independence from Europe.

7. Back to our national currency.

8. Remove and renegotiation of contracts with the state by individuals, businesses and other states that do not serve our national interests.

9. Remove illegal legislation and research all that had managed to the homeland. Guilty in prison and confiscation of property. No exception. Illegal legislation is anything damaging to Greece.

10. Research individuals who cooperated with them that they got the same punishment. No exception. If they have fled abroad, the welcoming countries to send them back. If not we will send back the consuls and will terminate relationships.. No exception.

11. Severe punishment for those found guilty of acts that caused or will cause damage to our country. Retroactively to 1821.

12. Remove all the unpopular government measures Papandreou. ALL!

13. Equivalent to 1000 € the minimum pension.

14. Equivalent to 1000 € minimum wage.

15. 10% Tax for all, more than 12.000 € tax free rate without exemptions.

19. Abolishing the state of the absurd and bureaucracy within 12 months. Each ministry and state apparatus not make the necessary changes to achieve the goal will be repealed. And all in degrees except simple employee would be dismissed without compensation. No exception.

20. Establish research centers for all universities and absorption in all these distinguished students.

21. Conscripts consultants, renewable every month, all ministries and government agencies relevant to the object of every ministry and agency.

Compensate producers for unsold products from importers similar products. You can import product X after exhausting the internal generation of X if not will compensate producers.

Seizure business with unpaid staff for 2 months and transfer of the business to the employees of this automatically without process.

Our borders and our history are not negotiable If Turkish frigate arrived uninvited at Sounion be seized or sunk. No exception.

I believe that eventually we will return from hell only if we fight in this new battleground. The battlefield created by accountants and lawyers who work for the bankers of foreign and local-xenofilon interests. This meant helping our struggle for freedom with the information and the obvious solutions are emerging.

This is the message from our history to all Greeks.

Never give up and never surrender the fight for freedom never stops, sometimes only takes a brake.

We invite all people who lack the financial freedom and not just to stand up against their governments and refuse to pay. It’s the only way to regain your freedom. How can you do this? Refuse to give them what they want more money! and your life for 500 euros a month.

If you are not free you’re dead, and you just do not know! But when a slave does not have to lose anything because you’re dead, get fat and fought for freedom and reborn.

Fear not because you are a good fighter because you’re Greek, a descendant of Leonidas.

You are all Greeks, your roots and the roots of civilization is in Greece. I urge all of you to come to your homeland and come to dance Sirtaki. Come for vacation, come to write a new book about the human spirit, come to make a movie, come to help your brothers the Greeks. Come to Greece. Come write the story of how the universe changed.

Never give up never surrender
