“The Power of Minimalism — Redefining beauty through simplicity and the essential.”

About the Artwork & Waterfront Series

Floating Spirits Three is an original abstract painting by Gregory Christeas and the third of three works inspired by a motorcycle journey through South Dakota’s Badlands that he shared with his son, Elias.

As they traveled through the ancient landscape, Christeas watched the sand drift beneath the open sky. Within the endless blue, he imagined soft yellow forms rising, floating, and moving with the wind.

Passages of blue, violet, white, yellow, and red move vertically across the canvas. Their luminous movement evokes calm, connection, and mysterious spirits suspended between the earth and sky. Floating Spirits Three was later featured in Gregory Christeas’ Art and Freedom exhibition at the Cultural Olympiad Athens 2004.

This original canvas preserves a personal father-and-son journey through the Badlands, transforming the physical landscape into color, movement, memory, and spirit.

Gregory Christeas creates infinite abstract forms that transform like a wandering spirit in search of the realization of beauty. The Waterfront Series was developed over decades of exploring Abstract Expressionism, capturing light, water, architecture, and movement into layered compositions.

The Waterfront technique became the birthplace of the Parallels Series. Many works in this collection, including Floating Spirits Three, were featured in landmark international exhibitions, giving them significant and verifiable provenance.

By applying industrial pigments in multiple layers, Christeas creates bright fields where color and texture become structural, tangible elements. His paintings reveal radiant layers that balance chaos and serenity, transforming raw emotion into visual poetry.
