Parthenon Impressions 8 by Gregory Christeas was inspired by memories of the Parthenon—a timeless symbol of light, form, and endurance. Measuring 19.5″ × 27.5″, this original work is painted with industrial oils on acid-free heavyweight paper.

Captured through shifting reflections and bold abstractions that evoke both sea and stone, more than twenty paintings emerged from this vision. The series was first exhibited at the landmark solo exhibition Art and Freedom during the Cultural Olympiad Athens 2004. Parthenon Impressions 8 engages in a dialogue between history and modernity, balancing strength with fluidity and permanence with change. Vibrant textures invite viewers to look beyond the surface, revealing emotional depth and a resonance that evolves with time and light.

Gregory Christeas creates infinite abstract forms that transform like a wandering spirit in search of the realization of beauty. The Waterfront Series and Parthenon Impressions were developed over decades of exploring Abstract Expressionism, capturing architectural geometry, light, and history into layered compositions.
