Parthenon Impressions Abstract Painting 28| Gregory Christeas was inspired by memories of the Parthenon—a timeless symbol of light, form, and endurance. Painted with industrial oils on heavyweight paper, these works capture shifting reflections and bold abstractions that evoke both sea and stone. More than twenty paintings emerged from this vision, first exhibited at the Cultural Olympiad in Athens, 2004. Each piece engages in a dialogue between history and modernity, balancing strength with fluidity, permanence with change. Vibrant textures invite viewers to look beyond the surface, revealing emotional depth and a resonance that evolves with time and light.
